What is the life of the Serpentine belt on a 2005 Toyota Corolla?

The belt is squeaking while idleing. Dealer says it's fine. The car has 65K on it.|||Look for signs of glazing.

Look for signs of tearing or cracking. Also, try to turn the alternator fan and pulley with the engine off. If the pulley slips on the belt, it is too loose or is glazed and must be replaced.

Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for the replacement interval for the belt. This varies from 20,000 to 60,000 miles. Some manufacturers have longer intervals. When no recommendation is made, timing belts should be changed every four years.|||Every car is different I'm sure, but I have a car with 57,000 miles on it, and mine squeaked too. I took it in for leaks, and the mechanic noticed that it was cracked. Now it makes a completely different sound after he replaced it.|||4-5 years|||i have a 05 corolla also and previously i had a 01 celica and i replaced it after about 96,000. i believe toyota recommends every 90,000. also is the belt at all wet due to humidity this time of year or rain cuz they will do that sometimes
