I have seen flat belts used to drive a motorcycle (usually they have teeth on one side so maybe that's not what you are looking for).
V-belt drives ususaly are used on exhaust fans. They run between sheaves that are different sizes to change the speed that the fan spins from the speed that the motor turns.
Chain drives run bicycles and motorcycles.
Wire ropes are used to connect the accelerator foot feed in a car to the eingine.|||cars have belts and chains. also atv's.
