What exactly, is "gods will for your life?"?

This is a commonly repeated phrase here in the bible belt.

"gotta get Jesus, find out god's will for your life" so on and so fourth.

Why is it some people can't make their own decisions regarding their lives, I wonder.|||That type of statement directly contradicts the Christians that claim we have freewill... They need to get their sh*t together.|||I don't know, other than to do my best, whatever life throws at me. And, yes, apart from or as a matter of faithfulness individuals do ultimately make and receive negative consequences for bad decisions (I think in this life, not the great beyond) and have reward or blessing from good decisions.

It is well to remember that no decision is ultimately a decision with consequences, good or bad.|||G-d's will for your life differs from person to person as everyone has unique circumstances. G-d's will could be sumed up as a "pre prepared package," specifically made just for you...finding it requires you to go forward into what you already know, which is the biggest challenge... alot of Christians today have lost the meaning of what this truly means...don't listen to anything that doesn't make sense for you personally...but at the same time don't condemn ALL Christain's just because you don't understand a particular group or Church...as their are a range of different types of Christians.|||1 Timothy 2:4 gives an accurate explanation. "God, 4聽whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth." This accurate knowledge comes only from the Bible itself and not from religions teaching only the traditions of men--pagan men at that. That is why none of the religions calling themselves "Christians" that one normally thinks of, have any hope of knowing God's will.

Once that will is known however, action will be required from those accepting it. As Jesus noted describing our them:

鈥淣ot everyone saying to me, 鈥楲ord, Lord,鈥?will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22聽Many will say to me in that day, 鈥楲ord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?鈥?23聽And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness." (Matt. 7:21-23) Note "doing the will" is not optional.

See what Jesus said would be involved in that will of God in our day besides after we are acquiring accurate knowledge in Matthew 24:12-14. "12聽and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13聽But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14聽And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."

Though most will cool off or outright reject the true God, those wanting salvation will not get it merely saying, "I believe in Jesus." and that is all. They must remain faithful "till the end" of either their lives or this wicked system it speaks of as ending. There is also a tremendous preaching effort world wide that must be eagerly done. So there is a lot involved in the doing of God's will.|||We have free will but God still has a will for our life that he wishes we would live. If you pray for his will to be done in your life you will find things start getting a lot easier for you. That's my experience at least.|||My will is for you to be happy and indulge in Italian food
