Who promoted Frank Mir to black belt in BJJ?

As we all probably know Frank Mir is a life long and second generation martial artist and holds black belts in both Kenpo Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His Kenpo training came under his parents who owned their own studio. But under who did Mir train and receive his black belt in BJJ from? On neither his website or myspace does he mention his BJJ instructors.|||The answer has already been provided, but I was going to use this forum to express my concern with people, laymen particularly, misunderstanding Frank Mir's accomplishments in Jiu Jitsu, which as far as I know, aren't many. He's never won or placed at Nationals, or Pan-Ams, he's never won or placed at Worlds, or even competed at any of these aforementioned tournaments. He lost to Renato Babalu Sobral in a grappling superfight in Tuff-N-Uff a few years ago, although he outweighs Babalu by ALOT of weight.

Frank Mir is a legitimate black belt, but he isn't World Class. Nowhere near World Champion, imo.

E|||Ricardo Pires.|||Ricardo Pires, he got it after breaking tim sylvas arm in a match LOL
